Weekly Recap and This Weeks Goals

Week 1 in December is not going exactly as planned, but I guess most things in life really don’t. That’s why we adapt and become flexible.

I only got to  Crossfit Knoxville twice this week. But I only can count 1 time. I ended up walking out in the middle of my Tuesday workout. It was not one of my finer moments but pure exhaustion took over. Being a salaried manager at a retail store during the holidays can take a lot out of you. I started having a meltdown before I even got through my first 200 meter run.

Crossfit - Fran WOD The second workout was much more successful. We did one of the “girl” workouts called Fran. I did the beginner scale of 12-9-6 reps and subbed ring rows for the pullups. It still was a tough workout. It may look easy on paper and it’s a pretty short workout over all but it will still kick your butt.

The second part of the workout was Hang Power Cleans and Medicine Ball slams.
I stuck with 55 pounds for cleans and used a 10 pound med ball.

I had a nice chat with Brian, one of the coaches, about what happened on Tuesday. And he said sometimes we all have days like that.  He also told me to sub all the runs with rows since I am starting the Couch to 5K program. He’s worried it will be too much running for me.

Food wise I didn’t too great. My plan was to take my lunch 4 out of the 6 days I work. And the was a fail. On the positive side. I did get to the grocery store this weekend and spent some time cooking tonight so that I have food to take to work with me. And it’s already been put into portable containers so I can just grab and go.

And I need to improve on the water.

Week 2 Goals:

  • Stick to my workout schedule.
  • Drink 64 ounces of water per day.
  • Comment on 1 blog per day.
  • Foam roll everyday.
  • Be positive every day.

  1. Hey…it’s my first time here and I like your blog! It sucks when things don’t go perfectly as planned, but don’t be too hard on yourself! You still made the most of what you could do at Crossfit (which I could NEVER do lol!). Do you find daily foam rolling to be helpful? I bought one but rarely use it.

    • I’ll have to let you know about the foam rolling. I haven’t done it consistently enough to reap all the benefits I keep hearing about it
